Ideas for Pond Glass Projects
- Fibreglass Framing: You can use fibreglass for a flat finish around a brick frame. This is great if you are going to be putting larger fish in the pond as it is very stable. The rendering for this project can be further away from the wall for effective insulation.
- Brickwork Framing: This is a more affordable option. The glass can be placed into the brickwork framing, with room for insulation and effective water pressure. The brick wall is built first, and then the glass is added at the end with silicone.
- Instaponds: This is a pre-built option, so you will order it and then have it fitted into your garden. It is the most straightforward of the options and is very convenient.

Maintaining Pond Glass
Properly maintaining pond glass is important for your safety, and to ensure that the pond looks great all year long.
During winter and autumn, you should cover the top of your glass pond, so that leaves and other garden waste do not fall into the pond or scratch the glass. You should also do this when you are expecting scorching hot weather, as this can be bad for your fish.
Ensure that around the pond there are no heavy materials, pieces of equipment or garden toys that could ruin the glass if it fell onto it.
