Heated glass is a form of double glazing that radiates heat into your home, making it a warm and cosy environment. The glass has an integrated solution which provides the heat, surrounded by a coating that prevents the heat from escaping, putting it back into your home. Heated glass not only protects your home from the cold, it also reduces condensation.
At Glow Heated Glass, we have over 20 years experience of manufacturing glass, and we are excited to bring this innovative product to the market, as we are the first company in the UK to be able to offer heated glass within bi-folding doors. Bi-folding doors have been a popular feature of modern homes for several years, so our innovative heated glass solution within the doors brings the concept into the future.
For the first time a realistic alternative to radiators, electric fires or under floor heating systems is available either as the main or an additional source of heating for your home.
When opening up a wall by using bifolding doors customers often lose the main source of heating in the room Glow heated glass solves this problem preventing the need to relocate radiators and using up precious space within your home.
It’s widely accepted that there are several different ways to heat your home. Most modern homes have a central heating system, which uses a boiler and radiators for warmth. In more old-fashioned homes, you might find a coal fireplace and in newly-renovated properties, you may experience underfloor heating. All of these heating solutions work perfectly well, but they have their own problems. In the event that your boiler breaks, you can be faced with a costly bill to replace it.
Coal fireplaces aren’t always the best for the environment, and underfloor heating can be ineffective if it doesn’t run through the whole property. In a small home or room, radiators can take up a lot of space. When you have heated glass within your doors, no additional space is required, which leaves more room for your possessions and furniture. The doors are heated electrically, so there is no need to worry about your gas bill increasing during the winter months.
Lastly, our bi-folding heated glass doors are incredibly stylish, available in grey, black or white as standard and any Ral colour on request. They bring plenty of natural light into a room, making your home look contemporary and airy.
Heated Glass Technical Info
Glow heated glass is manufactured using toughened safety glass. The glass has a conductive coating which is connected to an electricity supply cable via electrodes on either side of the glass. When the electricity supply is switched on, the conductive coating converts the electrical energy to heat.
The glass is thermostatically controlled so that the temperature can be adjusted to suit the heating requirements of the room. The maximum temperature that can be reached is 35-40c.
