THE UK Padel Court MARKET

Padel Ball is one of the fastest growing racket sports in the UK, by the end of 2025 the courts across the UK will exceed 1000 and it is still rapidly expanding. The game, played in doubles is a hybrid of tennis and squash. Easier to learn than tennis, in smaller courts with shorter rallies and less physically demanding than squash, it has truly broad appeal.

PADEL COURTS

The court is enclosed by walls, which are an integral part of the game, as the ball is played off them. These walls are typically made from tempered or laminated glass, which provides the best and most predictable bounce, and is durable. According to LTA Padel, 12mm glass is the preferred minimum specification for UK installations.

PADEL COURT GLASS FROM TUFFX

TuffX are the UK’s leading glass manufacturers and glass processors. We specialise in toughened, laminated glass & heat treated safety glass, which is perfect for Padel Court manufacturers.

TOUGHENED LAMINATED GLASS

Increasingly growing in popularity is Toughened Laminated Glass, the secret of which lies in the laminating process, the glass undergoes during the manufacture. In simple terms an interlayer is “sandwiched” between two pieces of toughened glass should the glass suffer a breakage, the interlayer ensures that the piece of glass remains in place eliminating the risk of harm from shards or large pieces becoming displaced.

Padel Court builders are specifying laminated glass as it provides the strength & stability of toughened safety glass whilst improving safety by retaining all broken shards when a breakage occurs, reducing the risk of injury to players or passing pedestrians and it provides a clean, sleek appearance.

Unlike traditional glass, toughened laminated glass is highly resistant to heat and can withstand heavy impacts. In the case of a fire, this adds an extra layer of safety, slightly slowing fire from spreading so residents have more time to exit the building.

The laminated interlayer also provides excellent soundproofing, reducing noise transmission, making it ideal for indoor courts. This interlayer is also UV-resistant for outdoor Padel courts.

Available in the following glass thicknesses, which exceed to LTA specification;

Padel Court FAQs

Toughened laminated glass is created by combining the benefits of toughened glass and laminated glass.

It is made of multiple layers of glass for a secure and reliable structure. Toughened laminated glass is used for areas requiring additional strength and longevity.

Toughened laminated glass is up to five times stronger than non-toughened glass.

It offers excellent impact resistance, and the incorporation of laminated glass provides it with great shard retention.

This type of glass is particularly beneficial for Padel courts

It offers noise reduction, enhanced safety, and UV protection. It can also protect against strong external forces, such as harsh weather conditions.

The interlayer keeps the glass in place in the event of fracture, lowering the risk of harm by stopping shards from scattering. This makes it ideal for places where safety is a top priority, such as in and around Padel courts.

Compared to ordinary glass, the interlayer improves acoustic insulation by reducing sound vibrations.

Because of this, it’s appropriate for crowded urban settings where lowering noise pollution is crucial.
