TuffX can manufacture high performance double glazed units for solid roofing companies, including application of the filmed borders.

TuffX is a Made in Britain manufacturer and have been processing high quality glass at their factory near Liverpool for over 30 years. As well as providing processed glass to spec, conservatory glazing and rooflights, we also manufacture complete infill panels, as double glazed units for easy installation into any solid roof.

The filmed borders can be pre-applied to the bottom section of any infill panel, to ensure that the pelmet is hidden and the panel delivers maximum aesthetic appeal.

SPECIFICATION for infill panels

Each double glazed unit is manufactured using high performance Ambience overhead glass, renowned for excellent U-values, solar heat reflection, light transmission control, as well as self cleaning glass as standard.

Most of our range comes in up to 4m lengths and in a variety of tints and shades. Units are standard 4-16-4 and 4-20-4.

Ambi-neutral: Our lightest tint option. This is a good choice if you want strong performance benefits without a noticeable colour change, especially if you want the room to feel bright and open.
Ambi-aqua: Popular for conservatories that run hot in summer. It’s designed to reflect a high level of solar heat, helping reduce overheating while still keeping the room bright.
Ambi-ultra: Best suited to glass roof conservatories that get a lot of sun during the day and are used more like a living room (TV, dining, lounging). It’s a deeper tint choice when glare control is crucial for you.
Ambi-bronze: A warmer-toned finish that can suit traditional properties or anyone who prefers a richer tint. It’s a strong option if you want noticeable glare reduction and heat control, but it has a different look compared to the cooler-toned tints.
Ambi-max: This option focuses on the roof's appearance and performance. It supports larger glass units, reducing the number of glazing bars (muntin bars) across the roof. In the end, you’re left with cleaner sightlines and a more open feel.
Ambi-satin: Designed for the ultimate privacy. It’s ideal if your conservatory roof is overlooked by neighbouring windows or if you simply want a softer, diffused light rather than clear upward visibility.
Ambi-triple: Includes a triple-layer structure with an impressive U-value of 0.7 to improve insulation, support heat reflection, and reduce sound transmission. This is ideal for those who want to use their conservatory more during winter.
Ambi-sunshade: A top-performing blue-tinted glass that reflects up to 82% of solar energy and offers increased glare reduction. If your conservatory receives strong sunlight for much of the day, this is one of the most effective ways to improve comfort.

What does “Low E” mean, and do I need it for my infill panels?

Low-E (low-emissivity) coatings help reduce heat loss, so the room holds warmth more effectively.

Several Ambience options are available with Low-E variants, and we can help you choose the right one based on how you heat the space and how you want it to perform throughout the year.
